precious bodily fluids

Tonight I moseyed on over to the Oak to see Dr. Strangelove. We weren’t a very big crowd, but we were enthusiastic and appreciative. We even did the sing-along thing to “We’ll Meet Again” at the end. The first time I witnessed this phenomenon, it was basically by a lone, random guy sitting behind me and fred baby. We just assumed that he was a little funny in the head. You know. Just a little…funny. But tonight a bunch of people did it, and I joined in. I haven’t definitely been able to confirm that this is a common Strangelove custom, but it appears to be tradition at the Oak, at least.

As we left the theater afterwards, a woman and her two sons were walking up the aisle ahead of me. I heard the shorter one ask, “But, Mom, none of that doomsday stuff could really happen, right?” She put her arm protectively around his shoulders, but before she could make much of a reply, his big brother did the proper big-brother thing, piping up reassuringly with, “Well, technically, it could…”

quote to go:

“He’ll see the big board!”
